Moving Connections: Movement, Art, Development and Relationships (MADRe)

ABOUT

MOVING CONNECTIONS: A movement-based relational approach to early childhood therapy. Relationships start from the body using touch, gaze, voice and posture rhythmical and spatial coordinations. It’s a dance.. co-created from the very beginning of life.

Supporting the child’s wellbeing and healthy development begins with the quality of the relationships with her/his important figures of attachment.

Difficulties in early relationships are part of the challenging journey of accompanying a child grow.

Early intervention can often change the ‘choreography’ of the relationship and as a result the future of the child’s social-emotional development.

About myself:

I am a dancer, dance movement therapist and a mother.

I have more than 20 years of experience working as a dance therapist with young children and their families in different constellations.

I believe that movement, dance and play have a significant role in helping a child become who they chose to be.

I see change as always happening within a relationship to others. This is how we get to know who we are, by encountering others.

I view parents as central partners when accompanying children through the challenges of growing up. Children become who they are through their relationships with their parents.

Playing together, moving in coordinated rhythms, observing the child with curiosity and openness to discover who they are. Not knowing .. waiting to see what happens. Staying present to the surprising improvisation that is being together. This could change everything.
